Shopping in a Box
Friday, December 16th, 2011http://www.vimeo.com/32154694I don’t know about you all, but the notion of Pop-Up shops is getting a bit tired and formulaic. Step up a former retailer to offer us one of the first Pop-Up shopping Malls created out of shipping containers. In 2008, Puma created Puma City, made up of jumble of containers housing a temporary superstore. This concept was loved by Roger Wade, former owner of clothing brand BoxFresh. He has pulled together a group of creatives and investors, and has launched an innovative retail Mall under the shadows of the City skyscrapers.
Whilst the term Pop-Up is slightly misleading, most retailers will be here for years as opposed to weeks. It’s intended life span is 5 years, after having been built within 10 weeks. Each retailer will have the same style of store shape, but it is down to the inventiveness of each to wow the customer. Another stipulation is that each store must offer something unique from it’s other retail outlets. First on my list for next week’s shopping. www.boxpark.co.uk

Just as fashion weeks around the world finish, a fantastic new game appears. ‘How to be a fashion Designer’ all in one game. Nice.
